This meal is a vegetarian treat. The various layers of flavors and the nice mix of textures make it a meal worthy of returning to Tupelo to order. Plus the portion is quite generous so that there are always leftovers for the next day (and it tastes as good cold as it does hot!).
We can talk about the most incredible moist and delicious Salmon dish I have ever tasted and pork chop beyond amazing, and mud pie that was a mile high, but the story doesn't begin there. This was actually our second trip to this amazing find...in the same day, that is! We enjoyed the tranquil quaint patio for breakfast of a crazy delicious small plate (nothing small about it) breakfast wrap, while my man enjoyed an egg scramble like none before and the mouth watering biscuit with the jam that he said he will never forget. And the service was terrific, we were treated like family at both meals. We will be back, again and again... love love love this find.
This is my all time favorite breakfast meal. We order it every time we visit Tupelo Cafe even if we eat it each week! We love Tupelo Cafe because of the personal touches, friendly staff, and Amy is wonderful!
Char Grilled White Cheddar Burger w/ Caramelized Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Fried Pickles & Hand-Cut Fries
Tupelo Junction has been my go to favorite in Newport and even more so while sheltering in place. Their food is amazing. A wide variety of selections for every pallet. I have tried their breakfast & dinner menus and have not been disappointed. Dessert is amazing. We have brought guests from out of town several times and they always ask to go back on return visits. Their customer service is above and beyond, you are always treated as "family", and they are very appreciative of your support during this time.
Pork chop was very juicy and cooked well. Holds up great to the sauce with the earthy cream sauce. The risotto cake underneath soaked up the sauce deliciously.
Had this as an appetizer for a brunch on a weekend. This was about the right size before having a large plate. The grits were very creamy and the lobster gumbo sauce has a very good lobster essence. The shrimp were cooked very well and complemented the dish. Very good way to start a meal.
Cowboy Ribeye Steak w/ Grilled Asparagus & Roasted Potato, Bacon, Cheddar, Scallion, Sour Cream Hash
Family dinners to go from Tupelo. Just imagine having a nice dinner at home with your family members, each getting something he an she likes, and not having to cook or do the pots and pans. Order from the menu, call in your order, pick up your order, and have everyone at your table enjoying their tasty dinner. It doesn't get any better than that. Family time at your own dinner table. DON'T FORGET THE DESSERT!
First, disabuse yourself of any notion that salad equals low-calorie diet food. Second, dive in. Even the most those of us most suspicious of being satisfied by a "salad", will be happily question whether there remains any room for dessert.
heaven on earth. moistest chicken, fabulous rich corn bread butter milk dressing this is a light dish despite all the ingredients which are just so fresh it a beautiful dish to look at but you will devour it instantly
You won't find a better tasting salad anywhere!
Crispy Fried "Free Range" Jidori Chicken
Absolutely delicious! Love this dish and this place! XO
This french toast was amazing. It is so rich and buttery with the perfect amount of sweetness from the berry compote and whipped cream. I will definitely be returning, the next time im in the area.
Super Yum! I could eat this dish at every meal! The salmon was the best salmon I have had! The molasses flavor is delectable! The bed of white bean and cherry tomatoes was tasty and so healthy. I am vegetarian, but managed to eat around the sausage, saving that for a friend who devoured every morsel of goodness. We tried the bargain $10 happy hour portion. What a treat! We will definitely be back for more. We also loved the cute neighborhood bar feel!
This salad was fabulous! Best combination of flavors you can ever experience in a salad!
Southern Fried Chicken w/ Hand-Cut Fries
Southern fried chicken tastes so scrumptious in this special house on 29th Street off Lafayette by the Newport Beach Harbour. Tupelo Junction Cafe is in a house converted to a cafe with a bar and back private patio. The southern fried chicken is just the right degree of crispyiness with each juicy chicken bite you take. The neighborhood has an electic mix of original older two story buildings, art galleries, coffee shops and new three story million dollar townhouses. The staff is very attentive yet respectfully observant to respect your privacy without a barrage of interruptions. Great hospitality with southern charm in the OC by the sea. A definite place you will return to often.

Baby got BACK back back back I want my baby back baby back baby back ribssss CHILI'sss baby back back at Tupelo Junction! SO GOOD!
More than one year ago, I was going to meet my friend Julie for breakfast. She highly recommended a restaurant in Newport Beach called Tupelo Junction Café. She told me about one of their more popular menu items but said to get what sounded good to me. I went with her suggestion of the Pumpkin Oatmeal Waffle with Caramelized Bananas, Candied Pecans, Sweet Cream and Maple Syrup. I was moaning with delight from the first bite. Julie asked if we should share each of our breakfasts' and I said no. We now laugh about it because she could tell how much I was enjoying my meal. The waffle was crisp on the outside yet soft in the middle, the candied pecans gave it the sweet and crunchy texture, the sweet cream was spreadable and decadent and the bananas…well, I wish there were more! Two weeks ago Julie moved out of state, but before she left I wanted to treat her to one last breakfast at Tupelo Junction Café. I hadn't been back since my first visit but have often thought about that epic meal and have recommended the restaurant to so many people who have also fallen in love with other menu items. This time Julie and I both got the waffle and it didn't disappoint.
As a southerner, I found this dish as genuine delicious cuisine and will definately try again.
The slaw and meat were great together. The bread overwhelmed the sandwich. Eating with half the bread brought a better balance. to taste the ingredients.
Blackened Molasses Wild Salmon w/ Spinach, White Bean, Cherry Tomato & Andouille Sausage Sauté
The food is absolutely wonderful! Menu is perfect, something for everyone...And service was awesome,so we be back definitely.
I have dined at this little gem of a restaurant 4 times, and what always brings me back? This salmon dish............just WOW! Going tonight and will TRY to order something different, as I'm sure all the choices are amazing and fresh!
2nd Favorite Scramble (Asparagus Black Truffle Cheese is my go to!) I'm a creature of habit but decided to venture out to try this decadent scramble. Sooo good, so rich and the gouda ...... yum!! Get this with their homemade biscuit on the side and you'll be full enough til dinner! Mouth watering just thinking of it .... :)
It never disappoints
Good with a coffee to start a brunch. These light, delicious treats soak up the creme anglaise. Great for splitting amongst 2-4 people.
Pretty much my go-to large plate at brunch. Frankly, I want to try more items on the menu; but, this always brings me back. Not a bad problem to have. The waffle is good; but, the thing that makes it are the toppings. The caramelized bananas & candied pecans are fantastic and go well with the syrup & smooth whipped cream.
So I'm from the south, and these fried green tomatoes take me home. The seasoning in the breading is perfect, and the dipping sauce is the most excellent compliment. The roasted corn salsa rounds it all out nicely to make the perfect beginning to your meal or a nice snack on a warm afternoon enjoyed with one of their refreshing mint juleps.
Swordfish at $23 is hard to beat. But this could cost considerably more and still be well worth it. The swordfish was prepared to perfection, but the presentation eliminates any concern that the fish can be simply a bland alternative to a steak. The roasted corn salsa is delicious, and topping the swordfish with guacamole and planting chips at color and almost and hors d'oeuvre to an already sumptuous entrée.
This is by far my go-to dish every time I come to Tupelo. It's the most delicious wrap ever had!
Loved the Pecan crusted trout. The sweet potato chops with green beans were amazing!
One of the first dishes I tried, the one that reeled me in to become a fan of this place, and one that I always go back to. If I'm being realistic, though, I have not tried anything at Tupelo that I did not like, but this one I will enthusiastically endorse. This and their Strawberry Shortcake which has often been the deciding factor when I'm trying to choose between Tupelo Junction and another place to eat. Easily one of my favorite places in Newport Beach.
I went to Tupelo Junction Cafe the other day for Breakfast and had this too die for Pumpkin Oatmeal Waffle with caramelized bananas on top. Pumpkin is my favorite flavor of the fall season and just year round, and this waffle was had the perfect taste of pumpkin it was so fluffy and it just melt in my mouth. I loved this waffle because it was cooked the way i like and had such a delicious buttery taste. If you ever come in and order this waffle i recommend to pair it with there chai latte, it fits very well together. I am beyond happy i live just down the street from the cafe so now i can pop by anytime and grab a waffle.
Tupelo Junction's vanilla dipped french toast is undoubtedly my favorite french toast dish of all time. Every component of the dish is fresh, light, and SO delicious. It's easy to tell that they make everything with quality ingredients.
This lil gem is our special place. We save it for special occasions but would be in weekly if we lived closer for sure. The quality and creative plates just hit our happy button......every single time! A must go!!
This dessert hits the spot!! Highly recommend!
Grilled cheese and tomato soup is a surprisingly hard dish to find in Newport Beach. Maybe because everyone is worried they will gain a pound. I am not one of those people. I'm only worried that those unfortunate souls will never feel the joy and satisfaction of this meal. The ultimate comfort food is right here at Tupelo Junction!
Best salad in Newport! Highly recommend this mix of southern taste and fresh appeal of Cali farm to table. The cornbread is worth coming for.
First time I'd had trout even though I love fish and Tupelo does all their fish dishes excellent. BUT I tried the trout which was amazing! Light, moist white flesh fish with a bit ob crunchiness with the pecans and then was set off beautifully with the sweet potato crab hash. When I finished I was almost sorry I couldn't start over.
Frankly, what's not to love. The chicken is crispy, yet mosit, and the chard is a great spin on the more commonly included collard greens. And the price? Keep it a secret that fine dining can be had at KFC prices.
Absolutely the BEST fried green Tomatoes & Chicken Salad Ever! MUST return to explore rest of menu!
